About JAMA

Years ago, Jama (Jose Andres Mato Alonso), the founder of jamaedu.org, volunteered as an art teacher with Grace Place for Children and Families, a Naples non-profit dedicated to supporting underserved children and families. That experience planted the seed for what would become jamaedu.org — a way to give back to a community that helped shape his own family’s story. Having built his career and his success in this country, Jama sees this work as a full-circle moment: an opportunity to extend the same access and opportunity to the next generation of children.

Today, JAMAEDU.ORG works to place high-quality, curated art supplies into the hands of underserved children throughout Florida — because access to art shouldn’t depend on circumstance.

How it works

1. We identify a need — partnering with schools, camps, and community programs across South Florida that lack art resources.

2. We curate the kits — sketchbooks, blank papers/canvases, paints, brushes, and bilingual coloring books, selected for quality and accessibility for all children.

3. We distribute directly — placing supplies straight into classrooms and program spaces, ready to use.

A single kit can turn a classroom or camp table into a working studio, giving a child their first real set of art supplies. It’s a small investment with lasting return: confidence, focus, and a broader sense of what’s possible.

Donations support our charitable and educational programs, including classroom and art supplies, educational programming, student enrichment activities, community educational events, and program administration necessary to carry out our mission. Restricted gifts are used in accordance with the donor’s stated intent whenever practicable.

  • Yes. Jama Edu, Inc. is recognized by the IRS as a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (EIN: 41-5010102).

    Contributions are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law. You’ll receive an email acknowledgment for your tax records after your donation is processed.

  • Jama Edu respects the privacy of every donor and does not sell, rent, or trade donor information. Personal information is used only to process donations, acknowledge gifts, communicate with donors regarding our mission, and comply with applicable law. Online donations are securely processed through Donorbox and its payment processors.

  • Charitable contributions are generally considered final. If you believe a donation was made in error or an incorrect amount was charged, contact us within 30 days. Refund requests will be reviewed promptly and fairly.
